Chaddlewood Miners started out in 1981 to provide football for boys and girls, but contrary to popular opinion, the fact that we were formed to serve children is not the reason for our name! Chaddlewood Miners AFC was named after the company who owned the mining operation at Hemerdon, when they gave us a £1,000 grant to start our club.
We won our first honours in the 1987/88 season, when our Under-12s team won the Warspite cup and were runners-up in their league.
From these humble beginnings, the club became much larger, and in 2006, we passed a major milestone, becoming one of the first clubs in the area to attain FA Charter Standard status. Today, we continue to grow, and in fact we are one of the largest providers of structured league football in the area with over 170 players registered to us in all competitions, from all sections of our community. The future looks bright!
